Story Of Our Studio

We are celebrating our 24th season and would like to welcome you to our Dance family. Let us share with you how we got started, our experience, and why you should choose Uptown.
We opened in February of 1992 after the studio Miss Pat was teaching at closed abruptly. At that time Miss Leslea (Miss Pat's daughter) was just a student and devastated that she would no longer have her home away from home, her dancing school. There was only one thing to do, open their own Studio... UPTOWN DANCE.
Miss Leslea started at Uptown as a student teacher, moved on to become a teacher after obtaining a degree in Dance Arts, and now is assistant director. She is also a certified AFAA fitness instructor and dances professionaly with G-Volution Dance Company. Miss Pat has been dancing and teaching for over 40 years with IDEA and PDTA certifications. She feels having the business family owned and operated is what makes Uptown so successful. "We are a small studio which allows us to know every student by name, get to know their family, and provide individual attention to all. It is still our home away from home and we see our students as our extended family, We love doing what we do!"
